science-2010

On Tuesday evening (February 9, 2010) over 90 SJS families attended the Science Showcase held at the Imagine Nation Museum.  Families, friends and students viewed the findings of SJS 5th-8th grade scientists and the 1st through 4th grade class science projects. The SJS school community also enjoyed exploring and experiencing all this interactive museum has to offer. Science Projects by eighth grader Daniel K. and seventh grader Mika J. received top honors as determined by the panel of outside judges and will represent St. Joseph School at the state Science Fair held at Quinnipiac University in March.

Special thanks to Doreen Stickney and her staff at the Imagine Nation Museum, as well as SJS faculty and parents who helped with set up, volunteered at exhibits and cleaned up.  Science Showcase coordinator/SJS science teacher Joan Pikiell was especially pleased that we were able to beat the snowstorm and that there was no school Wednesday (so that she could catch up on some well deserved rest!)
